Highmark Releases 2024 Bright Blue Futures Community Report

PITTSURGH (April 3, 2025) — Highmark today unveiled its 2024 Community Report, showcasing the significant impact of its Highmark Bright Blue Futures program. The report details how the corporate giving and community involvement program advanced the health and resilience of individuals, families, and communities across Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, and western and northeastern New York in 2024.

The 2024 report highlights include:

  • Expanding Access to Care: Highmark partnered with community organizations to provide vital services – including vision and dental exams, preventive screenings, and vaccinations– to an estimated 25,000+ individuals this year alone, prioritizing those in underserved rural communities and low-income areas.
  • Fostering Healthier Communities:  Highmark supported organizations that have provided access to basic needs - healthy food, safe housing and other essential items - to an estimated 100,000+ individuals.
  • Empowering Community Nonprofits: The second Highmark Bright Blue Futures Awards program recognized 15 exceptional organizations with nearly $500,000 in grants, celebrating both established community programs and emerging nonprofit initiatives. A new Thought Leadership Forum further amplified the program's impact in 2024.
  • Community-Focused Action: The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, now a longstanding tradition, has generated over $19.2 million for more than 500 health and human services organizations since its inception.
