PHILADELPHIA (January 19, 2024) — Premiering at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in 2024 is a new 10-year corporate partnership. Highmark Blue Shield is now the official health insurance sponsor of the Mann, and together they are reintroducing one of the iconic stages on the Fairmount Park campus – the Highmark Skyline Stage @ the Mann.
The first confirmed concerts for the stage next summer are Canadian singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress Tate McRae on Aug. 14, 2024, Canadian rock band Sum 41, as part of its final headlining world tour, on May 18, 2024, and English singer-songwriter Cavetown & indie rock band Mother Mother, on July 3, 2024.
The Highmark Skyline Stage @ the Mann is a general admission setting that provides patrons with a festival-like, open-air concert experience and unparalleled views of Philadelphia's skyline. Introduced in 2012, it is a fan-favorite concert destination, situated at the Top of the Hill, that can accommodate between 3,000 and 7,500 patrons.
The Mann’s partnership with Highmark will span 10 seasons from 2024 through 2033 and includes support for the Mann’s ever-expanding, arts education and enrichment programming that is provided free for Philadelphia students.
“This is an incredibly meaningful new relationship for the Mann. Highmark Blue Shield’s long-term investment in what we do here on our campus and in our community speaks volumes about their genuine interest in the people of this region,” said Catherine M. Cahill, president and CEO of the Mann. “We couldn’t be more pleased to say: ‘Welcome to Philadelphia!’”
Highmark Blue Shield is now also the presenting sponsor of the Mann’s Motion & Music Academy, a year-round, after-school and summer arts learning program that is offered free of charge and provides high-quality choir, drumming and dance classes to students of the Parkside neighborhood. Motion & Music Academy is part of the Mann’s Out-of-School Time (OST) initiatives that offer students increased opportunities to explore the arts and develop their own skills, particularly as arts education continues to shrink during school hours.
“Highmark has a legacy of supporting arts and culture programming and education in the areas where our employees and our members live, work and play,” said Dan Tropeano, Highmark Blue Shield market president. “As a health insurance company, we strive to be true health partners with the organizations and people we serve. That same commitment to partnership is central to our work with community treasures like the Mann, which enriches the lives of so many with world-class music performances and arts education.”
Highmark is also the presenting sponsor of the educational performance component of the Mann’s annual Party in the Park gala, and is a preferred sponsor of its Annual Golf Tournament. Both events raise funds for the Mann’s Out-of-School Time, Workforce Development and Creative Placemaking educational initiatives.
