Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield hosts week of free community events

  • February Fun Features Family-Friendly Activities at Exciting Local Destinations

Buffalo, N.Y. (February 19, 2024) — Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield (Highmark BCBS) invites the community to join in their 8th annual February Fun;,a week-long series of activities for families to enjoy during Winter Break from Saturday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 23.

Highlights of Highmark BCBS’s February Fun event include free skates at the Ice at Canalside, Classic Rink in East Aurora and the home of the Buffalo Sabres, KeyBank Center. There will also be plenty of kid-focused programming with limited free admission events at the Explore & More Museum, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Buffalo Museum of Science, and all three Rolly Pollies locations across Western New York.

New to the lineup this year are discounted Learn to Ski or Snowboard sessions at Kissing Bridge. With the purchase of a regular price $40 lift ticket, the 90-minute lesson, free rentals and refreshments are also included for the first 100 registrants.

“February Fun is designed to give all children in our community opportunities to experience a variety of healthy and educational activities during Winter Break,” said Michael Ball, vice president, community affairs for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. “We’re thrilled to offer families a chance to enjoy quality time together at some of the area’s most beloved destinations, without breaking the bank.”

    • $10 general admission ticket with Highmark member ID card
  • Sun., Feb. 18, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Highmark Member Day at Explore & More Children’s Museum
    • Free admission with Highmark member ID card
    • Free Book & Cook class with Be Healthy Buffalo
  • Mon., Feb. 19, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Free Admission for the first 100 at Buffalo AKG Art Museum
  • Tue., Feb. 20, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Free Skate at Canalside
  • Wed., Feb. 21, 4 – 9 p.m. – Free Admission for the first 100 at Buffalo Museum of Science
  • Wed., Feb. 21, 5 – 5:45 p.m. – Open Free Skate at KeyBank Center*
  • Wed., Feb. 21, 6 – 6:45 p.m. – Highmark Member Free Skate at KeyBank Center*
  • Thu., Feb. 22, 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 7 p.m. – Group Lessons at Kissing Bridge*
  • Thu., Feb. 22, 2 – 3 p.m. – Open Free Play Sessions at Rolly Pollies*
  • Thu., Feb. 22, 3 – 4:45 p.m. – Free Skate at Classic Rink East Aurora
  • Fri., Feb. 23, 2 – 3 p.m. – Open Free Play Sessions at Rolly Pollies*
