Buffalo, N.Y. (July 15, 2026) — Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Buffalo Bills today announced the launch of Heart of Buffalo Health Quest, a community-wide scavenger hunt designed to bring Western New Yorkers together in celebration of two exciting milestones: The inaugural season at the new Highmark Stadium and the August grand opening of the Highmark Trail, a community destination surrounding the stadium.
Beginning on July 16 and running through August 12, the scavenger hunt invites participants to explore Western New York through interactive challenges at more than 30 community destinations across the region.
Participants can join the experience through Goosechase, a free mobile app that guides users through location-based activities. By completing weekly missions, participants earn points, unlock rewards and discover the people, places and organizations that make Western New York unique.
"Just as the Buffalo Bills unite Western New York, the Heart of Buffalo Health Quest was created to bring our community together through exploration, activity and hometown pride," said Jessica Cox, president of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. "We're inviting people to discover the places and organizations that define our region while building excitement for the opening of the Highmark Trail and a new chapter of Bills football.”
The scavenger hunt will culminate with the grand opening celebration of the Highmark Trail on August 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. Part of the broader community vision for the stadium campus, the 1.7-mile trail will be open seven days a week and provide year-round opportunities for recreation, wellness and connection. During the event, the grand-prize winner* of the Heart of Buffalo Health Quest will be awarded a pair of tickets to the Buffalo Bills' highly anticipated home opener against the Detroit Lions at the new Highmark Stadium.
“Our longstanding partnership with Highmark enables us to support initiatives like the Heart of Buffalo Health Quest scavenger hunt,” said Pete Guelli, President of Business Operations, Buffalo Bills. “This program encourages participants to discover notable sites across Western New York, including the soon-to-be unveiled 1.7-mile fitness trail designed for Bills fans and the local community. We are proud to contribute to a trail that benefits both game day visitors and residents year-round, promoting health and connection. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate for a positive community impact.”
