Observed every year on the third Thursday in November, Children's Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the painful impact that the death of a loved one has in the life of a child and to recognize and support the millions of grieving children across the nation.

Join Highmark in celebrating the 64th Light Up Night® in downtown Pittsburgh. An evening of family entertainment will kick-off the traditional start of the holiday shopping season in the city. Thousands of Pittsburghers will gather around for the official lighting of the historic Unity Tree, presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.

This beloved annual event features the Mendelssohn Choir, the Tamburitzans, and guest vocalist Blaine Alden Krauss, all performing festive music. Enjoy family fun, sing-alongs, and even a special appearance by Santa!

Highmark First Night Pittsburgh 2026 is the city's biggest New Year's Eve celebration which will feature over 100 indoor and outdoor events throughout the Cultural District including fireworks and headline performances. Six hours of dance, music, theater, comedy, magic, film, visual art and hands-on activities add up to a joyous celebration of the arts and our community.
