"Meet Dr. Right" at Jefferson Hospital July 27

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield

PITTSBURGH (July 11, 2016) — Are you new to the area, had a change to your insurance or are just looking for a new doctor or health care facility?

If so, Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield are teaming up for a free "Meet Dr. Right" event on Wednesday, July 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of Jefferson Hospital on Coal Valley Road in Jefferson Hills. Parking for this event is free.

Meet Dr. Right events are sponsored by Highmark and provide attendees with the opportunity to meet, mingle and make appointments with physicians from Allegheny Health Network and other community practices.

At the Jefferson Hills event, local residents can talk with family practitioners, OB-GYNs, pediatricians, cardiologists and other medical specialists from AHN and the nearby community that are accepting new patients. Expecting moms can also find information about Jefferson Hospital's new labor and delivery unit.

"We know families today are busy, and finding the right doctor for parents and children can be time consuming," said Marylou Buyse, M.D., M.S., senior medical director for Highmark. "We provide these free Meet Dr. Right events to help make that process easier."

Attendees can also take advantage of free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and meet with health-related vendors offering services in the Jefferson Hills area. Information on health insurance through Medicaid and CHIP will also be available.

"We encourage local residents to come out to this event to learn more about local doctors and health care services in their community," said Dr. Buyse. "It's a great way to spend an evening."

Individuals interested in attending the free event should visit the Meet Dr. Right website or call 1-855-856-0319 to register in advance.
