Any Highmark Health Options member qualifies for an urgent care online doctor visit. Therapy and psychiatry are available only to Highmark Health Options members age 18 and older.

Depending on your symptoms, you may get a prescription during your online visit. If this happens, your doctor or health care provider will send it digitally to your pharmacy. You'll pick up your medicines the same way you would for in-person visits.

Note, narcotics may not be prescribed during an online doctor visit.

Yes. There are a few terms that describe online visits.

Our online doctor visit services fall under the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) telemedicine category. They’re defined as “the practice of medicine using technology to deliver care at a distance.” Sometimes these are called virtual visits. Telehealth is defined as “electronic and telecommunications technologies and services used to provide care and services at a distance.”

With Highmark Health Options, you'll get the same great care from our online doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists that you’d get in person.
