PITTSBURGH (November 1, 2021) — Highmark today announced its Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance products in Western Pennsylvania for the upcoming year, offering individuals and families an array of high-quality, affordable coverage options.
On November 1, Highmark will offer new products, lower select premiums and copays, and introduce innovative new benefits, furthering their commitment to providing high-quality affordable health care to individuals and families in Pennsylvania.
“Our goal is to offer the best health insurance products in the region at prices that all of our members can afford,” says Alexis Miller, President of Federal Markets for Highmark. “And new enhancements to the ACA have made plans more affordable for even more consumers by reducing or eliminating premiums and lowering out-of-pocket costs.”
Thanks in part to the American Rescue Plan, about three in four Highmark ACA members qualify for tax credits to make their coverage more affordable and about one in four members are enrolled in a plan with a $0 monthly premium.
2022 Individual and Family plans
Highmark’s options for 2022 were designed with consumers in mind and make it easy for them to find the right coverage for their needs and budget. Consumers will be able to shop a range of affordable Highmark product options the provide easy access to top doctors in the region.
In 2022, Highmark will offer the first truly broad-network product in the Western PA region when it introduces my Blue Access PPO. Recognizing that an increasing number of ACA members want it all in their health plan, Highmark built my Blue Access PPO to provide in-network access to all hospitals in Western PA as well as access to over 95% of doctors and hospitals nationwide through the BlueCard® program.

Highmark’s fastest growing product, Together Blue EPO, remains among the lowest-priced products in the country in 2022. Together Blue EPO plans connect the world-class care of the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) with an innovative service and experience model from Highmark, all at prices designed to fit any budget.
Rounding out the portfolio is my Direct Blue EPO, which offers access to over 95 percent of doctors and hospitals nationwide through the BlueCard® program along with local access to AHN and community hospitals.
Within each product family, Highmark offers plans at the gold, silver, and bronze metallic level, along with catastrophic plans for consumers under age 30. For the third consecutive year, Highmark will be the only carrier in Western PA to offer a full suite of products with adult dental and vision benefits in addition to medical and pharmacy benefits.
No matter which Highmark plan a consumer chooses, they’ll have the peace of mind and freedom to choose the in-network doctor or specialist they want to see, with no referrals necessary; plus, access to Highmark’s top-rated customer service representatives and care management programs.

Highmark’s ACA membership in Western Pennsylvania is over 25,000, up from 6,500 in December 2019.
