Benefits and services

Highmark Health Options Medicaid and WVCHIP offers standard and “extra” benefits across the state of West Virginia.

Using your benefits

To get covered services through your Highmark Health Options plan, your covered services must be:

  • Medically necessary
  • From providers in the Highmark Health Options network
  • Received when showing your Highmark Health Options member ID card

Working with your Primary Care Provider (PCP)

For most benefits, you’ll need to work with your doctor or primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP will provide covered services, including:

  • Medical
  • Behavioral
  • Dental
  • Vision

Also, your PCP can refer you to other providers if needed. Your Provider Directory shows where to go in-network services.

Note, there are some services that don’t require PCP referrals. You can make these appointments yourself.
