2020 Highmark Virtual Walk for Healthy Community Raises $675,000 – Campaign extended until July 15

PITTSBURGH (June 9, 2020) — Highmark Inc. announced today that the 2020 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community has raised more than $675,000  for local nonprofit organizations as part of its virtual walk. The event was changed to a virtual walk due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, this year’s virtual campaign has been extended until July 15, 2020.  This extension allows participating organizations additional time to garner support and donations for their missions.   Participants can take their first virtual steps anytime they like between today and the end of the campaign, by walking on a treadmill, in a park or simply around their neighborhood.

The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, held annually in Pittsburgh, Laurel Highlands, Erie, Harrisburg, Lehigh Valley, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and Wilmington, Delaware since 2003, has helped organizations collectively raise more than $15.6 million.
