Highmark sponsors “Meet Dr. Right” event at Forbes Hospital March 29

PITTSBURGH (March 15, 2017) — If you have new insurance or are looking for a new physician, Highmark is sponsoring an event to help make the search for the right doctor a little easier.

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield are teaming up to offer a free "Meet Dr. Right" event on Wednesday, March 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Forbes Hospital, 2570 Haymaker Road, Monroeville. Parking for this event is free.

Meet Dr. Right events are sponsored by Highmark and provide attendees with the opportunity to meet, mingle, and make appointments with physicians from Allegheny Health Network and other community practices.

At the Forbes Hospital event, local residents can talk with family medicine physicians, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, diabetes educators, surgeons, and other medical specialists from AHN and the nearby community who are accepting new patients.

"We know a lot of consumers in the Pittsburgh area may be looking for a new physician that is covered by their insurance," said Marylou Buyse, M.D., M.S., senior medical director for Highmark. "We provide these free Meet Dr. Right events to help individuals meet and get to know a doctor before they make an appointment. This helps ensure that the patient is comfortable with a doctor who is part of their insurance coverage."

Attendees can also take advantage of free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and meet with health-related vendors offering services locally. Free refreshments will also be served.
