We believe that we have a responsibility to help improve the health of the people in our community. Here are some of the events and health observances that we're supporting this year.

Running 101

Additional Information: Running 101

Highmark Inc. is proud to offer Running 101, a 10-week physical activity program that provides the tools and support to help participants train and complete their first 5K race. The program is open to the public, free of charge and participation is online with a virtual coach or in-person at various community sites in western and central Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Delaware.

The Highmark QUAD Games offer year-round events to keep you and your family in great shape. Events are designed for participants of all levels. For those interested in testing their athletic skills, the Highmark QUAD offers a competitor level with timed results and event awards. There are also levels for those looking for a fun way to stay healthy all year long.

Through the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks Summer Concert Series, enjoy free rock, blues, R&B, country, Celtic and Latin musical performances and special children's shows. Performers include local artists as well as national touring acts.

United Way

Celebrate the United Way Scale of Hope at McNaughton Park in Harrisburg by donating your spare change. During the event, there will be a 50/50 drawing, prize raffle, silent auction, games, entertainment and food. The money raised during this event will directly support the local United Way of the Capital Region.

Join Highmark at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. for the annual Fun, Fit & Fabulous women's health conference. Learn how to take control of your health with educational workshops, inspirational messages, motivating presenters, exercise and health screenings.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield is sponsoring the 38th Annual Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race. Choose from the 5K, 10K and wheelchair races or participate in the heavyweight competition.

Children's Grief Awareness Day

Observed every year on the third Thursday in November, Children's Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the painful impact that the death of a loved one has in the life of a child and to recognize and support the millions of grieving children across the nation.

Highmark supports the national "Live United" movement by making a corporate commitment to many campaigns in communities where our employees live and work.
