It can be tough getting your kids to eat healthy, especially when you're on vacation or dashing between sports games, school, and family errands. Teaching your children how to pick the right foods will encourage healthy food choices throughout the busy day.
Start by getting your kids to brainstorm about healthy eating habits and let them help make grocery lists, go grocery shopping with you and prepare meals. Here are a few other ways to teach your children to eat healthy:
- Teach them where their food comes from by visiting your local farmer's market and allow them to choose fruits and vegetables.
- Help them plant a garden in the backyard and show them how to prepare delicious meals from the food they grow.
- Show them how to read nutrition labels. This will allow them to compare foods to find which have the most nutritional value.
