Flu

Protect yourself and others by scheduling your flu shot today.

It's that time of year again to get your annual flu shot. The flu, also known as influenza, is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza virus that infects your nose, throat, and lungs. Symptoms include fever, chills, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue, cough, headache, and a runny or stuffy nose.

Get your flu shot now for the best protection
Seasonal flu is spread by coughing, sneezing, or touching something that is contaminated with the influenza virus. The best way to protect yourself against the flu is to get a flu shot. Flu shots are available at your doctor's office, pharmacies, grocery stores, retail clinics, and schools. You can get your flu shot at any time, but flu season usually runs from September to May.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone six months of age and older receive a preventive flu shot. There are some people who should not get the flu vaccine, however, without first consulting a physician. Call your doctor today to discuss and schedule your flu shot.
