Need transportation? Try the Healthy Ride bike sharing program in Pittsburgh.
Take a healthy bike ride through the city streets of Pittsburgh with the Healthy Ride bike sharing program supported by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and Allegheny Health Network. This inexpensive form of public transportation provides access to bicycles from various locations throughout the city.
How Healthy Ride works
You can register through the Healthy Ride website, at any of the walk-up kiosks, through customer service, or via the mobile app. This pay-as-you-go model charges $2 for every 30 minutes that the bike is in use. If you prefer unlimited use, you can register for a monthly membership. You can also use your Port Authority Connect Card to register for Healthy Ride and receive free, unlimited 15-minute bike share trips.
Bikes can be picked up at one of the self-serve stations located throughout the city. A customer care call center is available to answer questions or provide assistance.
Since its inception in 2015, over 50,000 riders have registered for the program. Currently, there are 56 bike stations across the city, but plans are underway to increase the number of stations to 175 in the coming months.
Healthy Ride is operated by Pittsburgh Bike Share. For more information, visit Healthy Ride's website.
